Songs of Christmas Blog Hop

Welcome to the Songs of Christmas Blog Hop with Two Scrapbook Friends!  You should have arrived here from Jodi's blog.

Our Blog Hop is all about the Songs of Christmas and the inspiration for my project comes from the song Santa Claus Is Coming To Town.

I created this adorable sleigh, Santa card, envelope, and cute little chocolate bar sleeves for the blog hop.  I found the SVG file from SVG Cuts and had to play around with it! I am in charge of the Christmas party for my work and ended up making sixteen of each of these to give out as a gift to everyone.

I used a couple buttons to jazz up the side of the sleigh

On the card I used liquid aplique and glitter to give Santa's hat a little sparkle and dimension.

I also added some bakers twine around the brads to frame my project a little more.

Finally for my envelope I used the envelope punch board from We R Memory Keepers to create an envelope that was specific to my card size. To jazz up my envelope I added some coordinating bakers twine around the envelope.

Last but not least I made these really cute chocolate bar sleeves to go along with the gift for everyone at my work.

I had so much fun creating these projects for the blog hop and my Christmas party. I am hoping that my project inspires you to get out some of your Christmas paper, glitter, and glue and create something special for someone this holiday season.

So remember, in order to be entered to win the special prize all you have to do is hop from Blog to Blog and leave a comment on each as you go.  Then simply check back at the Two Scrapbook Friends blog on December 10th to see if you are the lucky winner!

Around The World Crop - Ways To Travel

There are many different ways to travel around the world. You can travel by boat, plane, bike, foot, etc. Everyone has traveled at least one place in the world even if it was just an hour away. My challenge for you is to scrapbook a way that you have traveled.

1. Your layout must contain a photo of a mode of transportation
2. Your layout must be brand new for this crop (no recycling)

This is the layout that I have created based on my challenge. This layout has photos of from my first trip and my first flight.

I used some of my favourite letters for my title.

I used these little journal strips and journaled a little bit about my experience.

Last but not least I added some stitching (obviously) to add a little more.

Stop by the Two Scrapbook Friends Forum to take part in all of the fun challenges that we have going on this week! I look forward to see what you created based on my challenge!  Don't forget to link your creations up to the Two Scrapbook Friends Blog as well!

Pink, Pink, Pink!

I have been creating like crazy again and I am loving every minute of it. My Mom's cousin had a little baby girl at the beginning of the year and I have been watching her adorable photos being uploaded on Facebook and we always talk about how adorable she is. My Grandma was in the store the other day and suggested that I create some layouts and then we can send them to her for her album. I am having so much fun with it so far!!

This is the first layout that I created! I used the Cut and Paste "Flair" line by My Minds Eye. The colour in the line worked awesome with her baby photos.

I used some clear buttons and put coloured paper behind it to customize them for the layout.

I used by water colours to do paint splats on my background..

I used my Silhouette machine to cut out some vellum hearts and then stitched down the center.

This is the second layout that I created of Grace. I used my Silhouette machine to cut out the heart portion of my background.

I used some of the enamel dots from the line to decorate parts of my layout.

I loaded my background into my Silhouette machine and cut out some important information about her birth and then put paper behind it so that it would stand out.

I used the dimensional stickers that came with the line. They are so adorable!

The next two layouts I created I used the My Mind Eye "Adorbs" line from Cut and Paste collection.

I altered some of the dimensional stickers for this layout and they turned out great!

I added some washi tape to my page (one of my favourites)

This is the last layout I created of Grace lately. I used some paint on my ground to have some colours pop off of the background.

I used the new hexagon punch that just came into the store and my gosh are they nice!!

Last but not least I used the sticker sheet that comes with the line.

I have been having so much fun working with these adorable pictures of Grace! There will be more posted as I create them! Thanks Melissa for letting me scrapbook your little girl!:)

A New Beginning

It has been a while since I have posted anything personal on my blog so I thought it was time to sit down and fill everyone in. I have been living in our new house in Elora now for just over a month and I have to admit I love it here. I do really miss our old house sometimes but the experiences I have had here and the new things that are around us make up for some of the things that we left behind.  My mom and I have done alot of exploring since moved here in July.

About three times a week we try to get out on our bike to bike the trails just around the corner from our house. We have seen so many amazing things that we would have never seen at our old house in Waterloo.

The trails are between a bunch of farm land so we get to see lots of farm animals and all of the beautiful scenery to go along with it. At first on our bike rides I was so amazed that we could walk up to cows and sit on straw bails and do all of these cool things that we never got to experience in Waterloo.

One of my favourite things about living in Elora so far is how beautiful it is. Its so peaceful and it amazes me that all of this is just around the corner from where I live. When my mom and I go for our adventures we always talk about how much my Grandpa would have loved to experience this all with us.

He loved hiking so much so experiencing all of this without him was kind of hard at first but now it is a special time for my mom and I to think back about all of the things that my Grandpa really enjoyed doing.

We have had a bunch of close family and friends come out and experience some of these fun adventures with us and they always tell us we picked an awesome spot to live.

I have always been very close to my mom but since we have moved I have found I am even closer with her. We have alot more time to spend together and the time that we spend together now seems more valuable to me. I always told people my mom was my best friend but I honestly don't know what I would do without her.   We have so much fun when we are together. I am having a lot of fun exploring and decorating the new house with her as well.

Moving to Elora has been an eye opener for me. I have been learning a lot of different things about me and my family and meeting new people. I can't wait to see what other adventures are coming out way!

Stay tuned for the next update!:)

Use Paint

I had so much fun with last months crafty challenge I thought it would be fun to do August's as well! My challenge for you guys this time is to use paint! Christa introduced me to water paint at a crop and I have been hooked ever since. You can paint on your background, paint an embellishment, paint a project, etc.

This is the layout that I created based on the sketch. I used my water colours to create my background and it turned out awesome!

I also used my water colours to paint on my doily. It started out white and with just a little pop of colour completely changed the look of it!

I used some of Studio Calico's wood embellishments on my layout to finish it off.

I also used one of my other favourite techniques on my layout which is journaling on my cameo! I cant wait to see what everyone comes up with for this months crafty challenge! Thanks for stopping by!

Use A Negative

Its my turn for another crafty challenge! I had alot of fun creating this one because it was something really new for me and something I have wanted to try for a long time but was too nervous. My challenge for you is to use a negative in your paper. For my layout I used my Silhouette and cut my title out and put washi tape behind it to have some colour show through. For your negative you can use it for a shape, title, etc. Get creative with it and try something new.

I went through my stash of stickers and embellishments and added some stickers and die-cuts to my layout.

I also used these awesome star stickers that worked awesome with the colours of my layout.

Here is a photo of a close up of my title. I have craft behind most of my title but behind the larger words I used colour washi tape to have them stand out more.

I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with this time around! Thanks for stopping by!

Crafty Challenge - Tell Your Story

For this weeks Crafty Challenge over on the Two Scrapbook Friends Forum I am challenging you guys to tell your story. I hate journaling on my projects. I never know what to say and when I do it never looks the way that I want it to. So I am challenging you guys to journal on your layout.

This is the layout I created based on my challenge.

I added some stitching, thickers, a die cut, and some banner pieces for my title. I love the colours of this layout as well. I thought they worked so well with the photo I picked.

Now onto the challenge part. I used my Silhouette machine and the sketch pens to journal on my layout right on the background. I found I really liked the way that this looked when I was all finished. I liked that I was right on the background with no journaling strips. I also am not a huge fan of my handwriting and doing it with my machine it eliminated me having to write this myself.

I look forward to seeing what you guys create based on my challenge this week. Make sure that if you participate to upload your project to the Two Scrapbook Friends Forum and the Two Scrapbook Friends Gallery.

Thanks for stopping by!!
