National Scrapbook Day Reveal Part One

Last weekend was National Scrapbook Day and at Two Scrapbook Friends Forum we ran a week long online crop to celebrate this awesome day! Each design team member created a challenge for our scrapbook friends to play along with. I had some spare time so I played along as well

Ann's challenge: Use A Frame:

Ann challenged us to use a frame on our creation around our main photo. This is the layout that I created.

I love the colour scheme of this paper line! It worked so awesome with my photo! I used a bunch of embellishments from my stash to create this layout!

I misted my background with a couple different colour mists to create a different background. I also added a couple butterflies with some stitching behind them.

I used a die cut from my stash for my title! I thought it worked really well with my photo.

Ann did such an awesome job with this challenge! I had a lot of fun playing along.

Next was Christa's challenge. She challenged us to use a colour pallet to create something. Her colour pallet included blue, green and yellow. Here is what I created.

I have been hoarding this paper line for a little while and this was the perfect chance to use the collection! I used my Silhouette to do some journaling on a journaling card that I had.

I used some matching stickers and die cuts to embellish my layout as well as some stitching around my circles

The embellishments that came with the line were adorable and matched the theme of my layout perfectly!

Finally I added one of the die cuts as my title to finish off the layout!

Christa had a fabulous challenge! I loved the colours and she gave me a reason to dig into my stash to use up some paper I was hoarding.

Next was my moms challenge. She challenged us to use a bunch of different techniques on our project.  This is the layout that I created!

I used my Silhouette machine to cut out my title for my layout.

I used lots of circles and arrows on my layout! They look awesome!

And like always I stitched on a couple things! I loved the challenge that my moms challenge gave me!

Thanks for stopping by to check out some of my latest creations! I will have another post soon to reveal the rest of my National Scrapbook Day creations!

Progressive Blog Hop

I hope your having fun going through our progressive blog hop this weekend. If I am the first blog you have come to go to Two Scrapbook Friends blog and start there to get the full experience.

If you have gone through all the rest of the blogs I should be your last stop.

The blog hop started on Joanne's blog with this awesome sketch that she created.

Since I am at the end of the blog hop I get to upload a completely finished layout including every one else's elements that they added.

Here is my layout based off of Joanne's Sketch, Shelby's stripped paper, Jayne's something wet, Christa's stitching, Carolyn's distressing, Ann's quote, and for my element to add 3 buttons.

My striped paper is across my photo, something wet is the texture paste that I have on my background, my stitching is on the chevron pattern paper, my distressing is the mist on my background as well as inking my paper, my quote is incorporated in my title, and my three buttons are on my banner pieces under my photo.

If you complete the entire Hop, and you leave a comment on each Friend/Designer’s blog and the Two Scrapbook Friend's blog by 11:59 pm on May 6th,  you will be entered in a random drawing for a great prize! In addition, if you accept the challenge and create a design of your own and upload it to the Two Scrapbook Friends Gallery by 11:59 pm on May 31st, you will be eligible to win ANOTHER fabulous prize!

National Scrapbook Day Challenge!

Pow! Bam! Boom! Pop! Kaboom!  My challenge for National Scrapbook Day is to use a burst on your creation! Below is the layout that I created based on my challenge! I used Pebbles Inc's Superhero line and it worked awesome with the photos that I had in my stash!

Part of my title came from a diecut on one of the papers in the line and I added the rest to work with my photo.

I used some washi tape as well as coordinating papers to create pennant pieces down the side of my layout. I added a speech bubble wooden shape by Studio Calico and added a word on top to finish it off.

I added a pinwheel from Queen and Company and added a little white button in the center to hold it together. I also added some stitching to create some texture to my layout.

My second favourite part of my layout is the glassine bag that I added. I tucked it behind my photo like a piece of paper and then added a journaling card to the inside of it. It turned out awesome!

I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with for my challenge. Make sure you upload your creation to the gallery as well as the forum. Thanks for playing along!

Be Yourself!

Life throws you around,it gives your scratches, cuts, burns, and bruises. But your strong enough to make it through it all. Your strong, a fighter, and your going to make it through everything. Everyone has crappy parts of their lives where things just really don't go there way. Having that feelings sucks! You feel hopeless and then everything else in your life feels like it's slowly falling apart all at the same time and you have no control over it. One thing I have learned over the past month or so is in order to be happy with someone else in your life you need to know what you want and understand your values and what is important to you.

I am someone who loves having someone around all the time. Ever since I was little I couldn't wait to hang out with the next friend and when I was alone at home I didn't even know what to do with myself. As I have gotten older I enjoy spending more and more time alone. It gives you a time to understand yourself and think about what you really want in your life. I was in a relationship with an amazing guy and unfortunately it didn't work out but instead of sitting around and sulking I am going to take it as a lesson to learn a few things about myself.

I used to beat myself up after I would get out of a relationship and question myself about how I messed up and what I could have done wrong and what I need to fix. The truth is sometimes people just don't fit well together. Its that simple.. it sucks but its the truth.

Anyone who is reading this and knows what i'm talking about. Hold your head high when your having a bad day. Don't sweat the small things. I have learned that lesson the hard way. Beating yourself up over every little thing just makes the big things seem even bigger than they need to be. If something doesn't go you way just learn to let it go. Something will work out eventually when it's meant to.

More Creations!

It's time for another reveal of some of the fun things I have been creating! I have been on a role creating layouts for my albums. I have no idea how I haven't ran out of ideas but I am loving the way my creations are turning out. For the two layouts I am revealing today I used Pebbles Inc.'s Pool line that they released. I love how fun and colourful the papers are and they worked awesome with photos I had of my cousin Payton.

Above is the first layout that I created using this line.

I added a couple journal sprouts from Jillibean and used a couple of my little alpha sticker to do my journaling.

I used American Crafts brads that went really well with the line and created some banner pennants to put on the side of my layout.

Like always I added some stitching to give my page more texture as well as dimension. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out my title for this layout as well as the large heart for my background.

Below is the second layout that I created:

The colours of this line worked awesome with my cousins bathing suit and made the picture stand out alot!

I cut a circle out on my Cameo and then stitched the rays of the sun around it. I love how my sun turned out!

I added some stitching to the wave paper I incorporated to add some texture and dimension. I also used my Cameo to cut out my title for this layout.

To finish off the layout I added a couple of the diecuts that came with the line and then added a few I had hanging around in my stash!

Thanks for stopping by!

Crafty Challenge - Make It Sparkle

For this weeks Crafty Challenge over on the Two Scrapbook Friends Forum I am challenging you guys to make your projects sparkle. I don't usually use glitter on my projects but sometimes a layout could use some here and there. So for this challenge you can use glitter, stickles, glitter letters, glitter buttons, etc. As long as you have some sparkle then you got it.

This is the layout I created based on the sparkle challenge.

I used my Silhouette to cut out some snowflakes for my layout. Then I used spray adhesive and then covered them in glitter. It worked out perfect.

I also used my Silhouette to cut out this adorable snowman from Echo Park. Isn't he cute?  I also added some stitching in between my squares:)

To finish it off I added a couple cute little sayings from one of the papers I had laying around and that finished the layout.

Make sure you stop by the Two Scrapbook Friends Forum to check out the challenge a little more. If you participate make sure you upload your layout to the Two Scrapbook Friends Gallery.

Thanks for stopping by!!:)

Sketch Number 8

Its my turn for another Sketchy Challenge over on the Two Scrapbook Friends Forum. Below is the sketch that I created for you guys this week.

And this is the layout that I created based off of my sketch. I used the Simply Spring line from We R Memory Keepers. The colours in this line of paper were so unique and I loved the way that they looked with a black and white photo.

I used my Silhouette to cut out my title as well as my butterflies for the layout.

I did some journaling on the computer and then cut it out into strips and layered them on my page.

I did alot of stitching with a contrasting colour to make the strips stand out a little more as well as add some texture.

I had alot of fun this week working with this sketch and I'm really happy with the layout I created. I look forward to seeing what you guys come up with. If you participate in the challenge make sure to upload your projects to the Two Scrapbook Friends Forum as well as the Two Scrapbook Friends Gallery.
